Film Treatment

A Film Treatment is the step between an outline and the film script. It reads like a short story. It also can include the following:

Logline: A short 1-2 sentence summary of what your story is about. It often briefly answers the following questions:

      • Who’s your main character
      • What do they want?
      • What’s in their way?
      • Where does it take place?

Objective: The purpose of your video.  What do you want your audience to experience?

Target Audience: Who is the intended audience.  What group of people will like your video the most?  This should be a narrow audience and not be “Everyone”.

Narrative: Basically, it’s the basic plot of your story written in paragraph form. It reads like a short story, but is told in the present tense and describes events as they happen.  It should include all the major events of your story.

The Narrative should contain all the major plot points of your story written in paragraph form.
